In San Diego: Amplified sound is restricted at more than one of this region's best-known public sites, and the rules aren't the same everywhere. Cabrillo National Monument allows no amplified sound at all at its wedding site — non-amplified acoustic instruments only. Balboa Park doesn't publish a blanket ban, but its alcohol-free zone west of Cabrillo Bridge overlaps with several popular ceremony gardens, which affects how late a reception with music can run nearby. Ask your specific venue for its own cutoff in writing before you book a band, and if you're at a county park in Julian or Ramona, ask about the same rule for those grounds.
