Cake & Desserts

In Jacksonville: Coastal heat and humidity drop buttercream fast on outdoor tables, so confirm delivery timing and shade with both your baker and your venue. A cake sitting in direct sun for an hour before cutting is a failure mode you can avoid with fifteen minutes of planning — this matters more here than in a cooler climate. Jacksonville has a real dessert-table trend, and a small cutting cake plus a spread of cookies, bars, or pies often runs cheaper per head than a full tiered cake sized for the entire room. Ask your baker for a written breakdown of both options against your guest count. If you are going with a tiered cake, confirm the delivery window, who receives it at the venue, and what the return-plate arrangement is for any rented stands. A dessert table also gives you a place to work in a local or family recipe without redoing the whole cake order — often at a lower cost than adding a tier.
