In Honolulu: Dress for eighty-five degrees and steady wind, not for a photograph you saw from a cooler place. Aloha attire is genuinely acceptable here for grooms and guests — a linen or aloha shirt, no jacket — and saying so on the invitation saves your guests a miserable evening. For dresses, lighter fabrics, and anything that does not fight the wind: a cathedral veil on a beach is a decision, not an accident.
