Honolulu, Hawaii
Music & Entertainment
In Honolulu: Two traditions are worth building in. An oli — a chant — and a pu, the conch shell blown to open a ceremony, are the sound of a Hawaiian wedding, and both are usually arranged through your officiant or planner rather than a booking agent. Slack-key guitar and hula at the reception are ordinary here and land better than a generic first-dance playlist. Practically: amplified music outdoors is restricted at most parks and beaches, and many resorts run a hard curfew, so ask the end time before you build a timeline around a late dance floor. Oahu's live-music pool is small and heavily booked through the dry season. Lock this one early.
