Stationery & Invitations

In Honolulu: Assume most of your guest list is flying, and everything moves earlier. Save-the-dates for an Oahu wedding go out eight to twelve months ahead rather than six, because guests are booking airfare and a week of leave, not a Saturday. Build a wedding website and put the practical answers on it — which airport, which side of the island, what to wear, whether they need a rental car — because otherwise you will answer those questions one at a time for a year. Mail to and from the island runs slower than a mainland quote suggests, so add a week to every printing and shipping estimate, and order extras rather than reprint from three thousand miles away.

Bringing your own design to a commercial printer

These are commercial and trade printers, not wedding stationers. None of them designs an invitation suite, and none of them lists weddings as work they do — they are here because they will print a design you already own, usually well and usually for a fraction of a stationer's price. That makes them a real option if you have bought a template, hired a designer separately, or are printing menus, programs, table numbers and signage rather than the invitations themselves. Send a PDF and ask for a paper sample first: weight, finish and color vary far more between printers than price does.
