A great many of the most appealing venues in this region are historic buildings on streets that predate the automobile, with no lot, restricted standing and permit-only parking on the surrounding blocks, so a shuttle from the hotel block is frequently the only workable answer rather than a luxury. Distance is the second reason. A city hotel block and a North Shore ceremony are further apart in practice than they look on a map, particularly on a summer Friday heading up the coast. Expect $800 to $3,500. Confirm headcount, route, staging area and gratuity in writing, and ask specifically where the vehicle is permitted to wait, because at many of these addresses the answer is nowhere.
