Cape Cod & the Islands, Massachusetts

Flowers & Décor

In Cape Cod & the Islands: Flowers cross the water like everything else, and the consequence is that a florist here works to a delivery window rather than an open afternoon. Ask when the material actually arrives, what the plan is if a crossing is delayed, and what they hold in reserve. Salt air and wind are the second problem: an unweighted arch on an open dune is a predictable failure, and delicate imported stems tire quickly in this air. A good local florist will steer you toward hardier material that holds through an outdoor afternoon, and that advice is worth taking rather than negotiating around. Have the ceremony pieces moved to the reception so you buy them once. Expect $2,500 to $12,000.
