In Las Vegas: Food here runs from roughly $65 to $120 a head, in line with or below other major metros, because a city built for banquet throughput has an unusually deep hospitality labor supply. The number that catches people is not the quote, it is what sits on top of it. Catering and bar are quoted before tax and before service, so add twenty to twenty-five percent for gratuity, service charge and the 8.375 percent Clark County sales tax before you decide anything is affordable. Ask for an all-in per-head figure in writing at the tasting. If your venue is a resort, ask early whether outside catering is permitted at all, because on the Strip it usually is not.
