In Las Vegas: There is one situation here where a planner stops being optional. Valley of Fire issues wedding permits only to insured wedding professionals and not to couples, so if that site is what you want, you are hiring someone whether or not you had budgeted for it. Lake Mead is demanding in a different way: its permit costs $150 and takes a minimum of forty-five business days, which is longer than most couples leave for anything. Beyond permits, the case is the same as anywhere but sharper, because so much of this market runs through resorts with house lists, house sound and outside-vendor fees. Expect roughly $1,200 for day-of coordination and up to $8,000 for full planning.
