Venue

In Salt Lake City: Two venues, not one, is the normal shape of a wedding day here: many couples hold the ceremony at one site and the reception at another, often in a different city, so read venue quotes as half-day blocks rather than whole-day ones and ask what it costs to add an hour on either end. The cheapest ceremony in the region is at a county counter. Salt Lake charges a $50 ceremony fee on top of its $50 license, $100 all in, by appointment, and does not supply witnesses. Davis charges $10.00 for an in-office ceremony. Utah County charges $35.00 and asks that an in-office wedding party be 8 people or fewer. Valley-floor halls, historic buildings, and canyon and mountain resorts all sit within reach of one another, which is why couples routinely book across county lines. If you are looking at a canyon site, know before you sign that dogs and other domestic animals are prohibited in the protected watershed canyons, so a dog cannot be in the ceremony party there.
